A witness said the driver didn't stop at a stop sign, and his truck pulled into the train's path.

The driver of a FedEx box truck was killed Monday morning in Haralson County when the rig was hit by an Amtrak train.

There were 55 passengers in addition to crew members aboard, but they were not injured, 11 Alive reported.

A witness told Georgia State Police the driver of the truck "failed to stop at the stop sign and traveled onto the railroad tracks into the path of the train."

After impact, the truck was pushed about a half mile down the tracks.
